4. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

Service providers and subprocessors

We may disclose personal information to vendors and subprocessors that help us provide the Services, including hosting, storage, analytics, customer support, communications, security, identity, transcription, artificial intelligence, and other operational services.

Customer-authorized integrations

If a customer enables an integration, we may disclose personal information to the relevant third-party application or platform, such as CRM, marketing automation, calendar, collaboration, document, analytics, or support systems, in accordance with the customer’s instructions.

Within workspaces and customer organizations

Information shared in a Slate workspace may be visible to authorized members of that workspace, the relevant customer account, and authorized customer personnel involved in the related sales, support, onboarding, or operational workflow.

Advertising and analytics partners

We may disclose limited data to analytics, attribution, and advertising partners for measurement, campaign attribution, or advertising purposes, subject to applicable law and your choices.

Professional advisors

We may disclose personal information to auditors, lawyers, insurers, bankers, and other professional advisors where reasonably necessary.

Business transactions

We may disclose personal information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose personal information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, investigate security issues, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Slate Technologies Group, our customers, users, or others.

With consent or at your direction

We may disclose personal information for other purposes disclosed at the time of collection or with your consent.

5. AI Features and Communications Data

SlateCX offers AI-assisted functionality, including text and voice interactions, content retrieval, content generation, recommendations, qualification workflows, and agent-assisted handoffs.

When you use these features, we may process:

  • prompts, chat messages, and responses;
  • voice audio and transcripts;
  • files, documents, and content uploaded to workspaces;
  • workspace history and context;
  • approved knowledge base content used to ground responses; and
  • metadata relating to interactions, outcomes, and tool usage.

We may use third-party AI, transcription, and model providers to help deliver these features. We may send relevant inputs to those providers as needed to generate responses, transcribe audio, retrieve grounded content, or perform related functions on our behalf.

We do not use customer workspace content, chat content, or end-user personal information to train generalized models for unrelated third-party use unless we expressly disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by law.

We do analyze customer workspace content to help SlateCX customers optimize their marketing engagement and opportunity conversion rates. Specifically, this analysis of conversational flows provides SlateCX customers with insights on how to better leverage their content and identify areas for improvement.[1] [2]

Customers are responsible for determining what data they choose to upload to SlateCX and whether they have an appropriate legal basis and notices for doing so.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, including:

  • essential site functionality;
  • authentication and security;
  • remembering settings and preferences;
  • analytics and product performance measurement;
  • campaign attribution;
  • experimentation and feature testing; and
  • advertising and remarketing, where applicable.

You can control certain cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie preference tools. Blocking some cookies may impact the functionality of the Services.

Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is not yet a universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, we may not respond to all such signals unless required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain customer accounts, preserve workspace continuity, support business operations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on:

  • the nature of the information;
  • the sensitivity of the information;
  • the purpose for which the information was collected;
  • customer configuration and contractual terms;
  • legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and reporting requirements; and
  • backup, business continuity, and security needs.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These measures may include access controls, tenant scoping, authentication safeguards, logging, encryption or encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, and vendor management practices.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

Slate Technologies Group may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your jurisdiction.

Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

To exercise privacy rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. You may also designate an authorized agent where permitted by law.

U.S. state privacy notice

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with applicable privacy legislation, you may have rights under those laws. We do not sell personal information for money. However, some uses of cookies, pixels, analytics, or advertising technologies may be considered a "sale," "share," or targeted advertising under certain laws. Where required, we provide choices relating to those activities.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing may include:

  • performance of a contract;
  • compliance with legal obligations;

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Customer Data and End Users

Where Slate Technologies Group processes personal information on behalf of a business customer in connection with that customer’s use of the Services, we may act as a processor or service provider rather than a controller/business. In those circumstances, the customer is responsible for its own privacy notices and for handling rights requests relating to customer-controlled data, except as otherwise required by law.

If you interact with a SlateCX-powered workspace provided by one of our customers, please review that customer’s privacy policy to understand how your information is handled in connection with that experience.
