The unit we bill

What counts as an engaged Slate

A Slate is a persistent space for one buyer and their team. Opening one is free. It becomes engaged — and billable — the moment the prospect does something with your content or your agent.

Not billed
Stage 01
Viewed
Someone opened the Slate, looked around and left without touching anything. You pay nothing.
Billed
Stage 02
Engaged
The prospect did something: asked a question, watched a video, saved the Slate, sent it to a colleague.

Stage 03
Identified
You know who they are and the record lands in HubSpot. No extra charge for knowing.
Included
Stage 04
Goal achieved
The outcome you configured is reached. We do not charge more when it works.

Engagement is anything the prospect actually does

  • Asking the agent a question, typed or spoken
  • Answering a question the agent asked them
  • Watching a video or opening a PDF
  • Any meaningful interaction with a card
  • Submitting a form
  • Booking a meeting
  • Saving the Slate to come back to
  • Sharing it, or inviting a colleague in
  • Starting a team chat inside the Slate
These are the same events that fire your Slack alerts and land on the contact record in HubSpot. If your team was told about it, it was billable.

Opening a Slate is free

  • A prospect opens the Slate and reads without interacting
  • An entry point that is seen but never opened
  • Detected bots and automated traffic
  • Preview Slates your own team creates while testing
  • A Slate that is created but never opened at all
This is the whole distinction. Attention costs you nothing — you can put Slates in front of as much traffic as you like. The meter only starts when a real buyer does something real.

Pricing questions

The awkward questions, answered.

No, and there is no penalty rate anywhere in the structure. On Enterprise list pricing there is no included volume to exceed at all: every engaged Slate bills at the same rate, your fifth of the month and your five hundredth alike. On the HubSpot offer, anything past the included 500 bills at $2.50 — below the standard rate, not above it. Nothing stops and nothing throttles.
They bill at $2.50 each, with voice included — a dollar below the standard voice rate, not a premium above it. A 600-Slate month is $1,999 plus $250. Your campaigns keep running and nobody calls you about it.
Voice is a property of the account rather than a second meter. When it is on, every engaged Slate bills at $3.50 — which is why the account rate, not a minute count, is the only thing you have to think about. If your buyers rarely speak, start on text at $2.50 and switch voice on when you want it.
Yes. Voice is a switch on the account and a tick box on each campaign. Turn it on and the rate on every engaged Slate moves from $2.50 to $3.50 from that point forward. Nothing else about your setup changes: same sources, same Skills, same goals, and both sides of a spoken conversation are transcribed into the normal conversation history.
No. The $1,500 pays for onboarding, Skill authoring, governance and the people attached to your account. Those costs do not move because your traffic did, so neither does the fee. Volume is priced entirely in the per-Slate rate.
Only the price and the invoice. Monthly is $1,999 charged every month. Annual is $21,588 invoiced once, which works out at $1,799 a month and saves you $2,400 over the year. The product, the 30 days of onboarding and the $2.50 rate beyond 500 Slates are identical on both.
SlateCX Enterprise is a twelve-month agreement, and per-Slate rates step down as annual commitment rises. Your rep will show you exactly where the next step sits and what it takes to reach it. Billing terms are agreed with them.
The HubSpot Customer Offer has to be signed by 31 December 2026. Sign before then and you hold that price for your term — the deadline is on when you start, not on how long you keep it.
Neither, in the sense that matters: the definition is fixed, published above, and reported to you in the same place we bill from. The Slate Funnel in Insights shows Viewed, Engaged, Identified and Goal achieved for any period you choose. Your invoice should never contain a number you cannot already see in the product.

Ready when you are.

The HubSpot Customer Offer is $1,999 a month, or $1,799 a month paid annually. Both include the 30 days of onboarding support.

Want to see it on your own content first? Book a working session and we will build it before you pay anything.
